A glimpse into my Genius Hour journey!
To create this movie trailer, I used Windows Movie Maker. I think this would be a great tool to use in the classroom, as it was relatively easy to use and allows students to add videos, images, audio, animation, and text. One of the issues I did have with this program was that after I saved it, the videos that I added into the program from my own recording device would disappear and you would only see a black box. This was one of the most frustrating challenges I faced while I used the program; however, I was able to solve it by converting the file so that it would play in the VLC media player after a lot of trial and error. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this movie trailer and it ended up being a nice break between my time spent doing other homework. I would certainly think about asking students to create their own videos using this program to share their knowledge about certain curricular topics or if I decided to do a Genius Hour in my class, to share their Genius Hour journeys just as I did above.
